Very well crafted. I liked how the 2 stories came together in unexpected ways. It says this is a trilogy and I'm not sure about that, but I enjoyed this as a standalone book.

A fun school-based fantasy story. Pretty standard school, hero learning of her powers story. But it was fun and was a pretty brisk read.

The story was decent, but there was too much magic for me to really like it. This book is dark—probably darker than Joe Abercrombie.
